Sustainable September 2017 - Day Twenty Two

SEPTEMBER 22 (FRIDAY)

CLEANING - CLOTHES DRYING

Hi everyone,
Apologies for the late Sustainable September post. I've been a bit unwell and I've been unable to get my post out as early as I would have liked. I'm always working to be the best I can be. I always talk about being Kind to yourself, so I'm taking time now and being kind to myself. Whilst also getting this done! Hence being late.

I went to the Wasteless Pantry today and bought myself some Soap Nuts. If you are interested in finding out more, look at yesterday's post.

This little jar should last me quite a while! And when the nuts get brittle they can go in my compost bin, so they are basically Waste free. Yay!

Today's idea is again on this weeks theme of cleaning.

Sustainable September Day Twenty Two: dry your clothes in the sun.

Did you know that the sun has the ability to disinfect your laundry? Well you do now! It is great to simply & safely kill bacteria without the use of harsh chemicals.

It is also a really a simple power saving (& therefore money saving) tip.

Want more reasons to dry your clothes on the washing line? Check out this website... The Spruce. It has some awesome ideas too.

ACTIVITY: Hang your washing out to dry. If not outside (it's been raining here this week) then inside on a drying rack! By reducing the amount of power you use by putting on the electric dryer you are helping the planet by reducing the amount of fossil fuels needed to power it.

Not sure how to hang something? Then here is a handy little guide to help you line dry your clothes.

Hope that's everything you need for today. I love keeping it short and sweet.

Like me, I hope you are being kind to yourself. Look after yourself. Eat healthy, do some exercise, drink plenty of water and get some sleep. Like I plan to do... right now. Please don't forget that the reason we do Sustainable September is because we want to be kind to our planet and all those who live here! That includes ourselves!

Enjoy.

Sustainable September 2017 - Day Five

SEPTEMBER 5 (TUESDAY)

TINY CHANGES - SHOPPINGS BAGS

Hi everyone,

AS you now know, this week of Sustainable September will all be about Tiny Changes. Little things you can do to make the world of difference. Eco Kindnesses are simple and hopefully easy. Like buying, using and taking a reusable water bottle everywhere you go. LIke me... Here is a photo of me writing todays blog post.

Yesterdays blog post was all about reusable water bottles, todays is all about Shopping bags.

Sustainable September Day Five: Swap plastic shopping bags for reusable fabric bags.

How bad are plastic bags? The following video explains what (for Americans) is the impact of having plastic shopping bags available. But it is not very different from Australia and the rest of the world.

In Western Australia there is currently a huge push to institute a ban of plastic bags, following several other Australian states. It has been as a result of the War on Waste Programme on television.

Check out the following clip from a local television station.

The thing is that it is not hard to be prepared for shopping and taking reusable bags. For me, I am always prepared. I keep my reusable fabric Shopping bag in my handbag (at least 6 ones that roll up fairly small).

Like this...

Sometimes I need bigger bags, usually for frozen goods.

I tend to take insulated bags and keep them in the car. That way, if i forget the insulated bags when i get into the shops, i can get the frozen goods into my roll-up bags, then transfer them into the insulated bags later. A friend of mine keeps an esky in the car for this purpose.

Mum and I share a car, and with mums volunteer position with the Country Women's Association, we cant keep lots of stuff in the boot. Because we are regularly taking deliveries for a range of charities there is not much space for more than a couple insulated bags, especially a hard shell esky.

In a recent news article, about plasic bags in my home state, some people are already making a transition away from single use plastic bags. Click here for a link to that article

ACTIVITY: Making your own reusable shopping bags. I recently started making my own reusable shopping bags that roll up and fit into your handbag. In the future I am hoping to add the instructions of how to make the ones i do. In the mean time here is a super easy 5minute video on how to make one in the meantime.

If you are looking for a different type or want one that rolls up for your handbag there are a lot of these reusable shopping bag patterns online including Pinterest and Google. Or you can come up with your own pattern!

Can't Sew? No problem! Here is an activity for you!

Upcycle old singlet tops or t-shirts to make new shopping bags.
Here is a little video on how to upcycle an old shirt for that purpose.

I hope you are enjoying this months blog posts so far.

If you are looking for an environmentally friendly kindness idea, well you could make some of these for your friends too!

With lots of love,
Daena

Last but not least - day 7 of the gift bag

That's it. I've opened all the presents I was given in my gift bag from the ladies at mums church. It lasted me a week, as intended. Whilst I'm passing on most of the things in the bag, I know just how blessed I am to receive a gift of kindness like this.

I was thrilled to have read all of this little book already (took me half an hour). It even had a lovely part in the book about Kindness. So I photographed it to share here.

So cool. It's lovely how this group of women (who gave me the gift bag) unintentionally shared with me something so close to my heart. They shared, showed and expressed Kindness.

I also took a photo of all then Little bible verses like I promiesed. If you wanted to use them, to make your own gift bag to give to someone, you can. Or you could come up with quotes that inspire you with kindness and generosity.

I grew up in the Christian church and as I've gotten older I have met a variety of people from so many religions. I have also met many who don't believe in religion or believe in a god either. All these people have so much to offer me in expanding my horizons and I am learning what means the most to me. Kindness in all its forms to all people.

I've come to the conclusion that whilst I am most comfortable in the Christian faith (Specifically the Anglican Church as I grew up in its churches, & I have worked for the Uniting Church, and volunteered for the Salvation Army too), I find that the words of Dalai Lama most profound "my religion is kindness".

I just wanted you to know that no matter who you are, where you are, what you believe, or who you pray to, that if you act with kindness and show love towards others ... we share the same values. Often this world is filled with separation, dividing us by colour, faith, country, sexuality, ability and so much more. We are all human. We bleed red blood. We have happiness and sorrow in common. We must breathe air and drink water to survive. We must eat to live. In our basic needs we are all the same.

My want in this world is to make the world a better place. To bring kindness and understanding, hope and compassion to everyone of this earths occupants. I also know I am human. Sometimes I get it wrong, sometimes I judge people without realising, sometimes I fall short of the expectations I place on myself, or expectations others have of me. But I do and will continue to do my best.

There is a quote I love: "Do the best you can. When you know better, do better" (Anon). That is what I am working on. Doing the best I can. Then doing better.

Have a lovely weekend. For those when celebrate it... have a happy and safe Easter. For those who celebrate other religious holidays around this time (many of which have already passed)... may you have love in your heart and be shown great kindness by all you meet.

Lent gifting day 38 & 39

Sometimes we have great plans and sometimes it just doesn't happen.

I've been working really hard to post daily but it didn't quite go to plan yesterday. Yesterday I took my niece down to the park and when I was there I got the starting of a migraine. My sister thankfully was on her way from work so she was able to swing past and pick us both up and take us home.

By the time I got home I was nauseous and by the time I had had a chance to fill up my water bottle and make sure I had an ice pack I was vomiting. Great topic of conversation, I know. Hehehe. I then proceeded to sleep from 5pm to 11.30am when I was taken to the doctor and then back to bed until almost 6pm. I had basically spent 24 hours in bed (excluding the time I was at the doctors).

Needless to say, by this evening I felt much better, although not 100%. But I got sick and tired of being in bed so I got up. I Had dinner with my family, watched some tv (fairly quietly) with the adults in my family and played a game of cards with my brother in law. All with my sun glasses on!

Even though I was sick I didn't forget I had to do two days worth of blog posts. I'm making it short and sweet today because I need to.

Yesterday's giving was another toy.

I've had this "baby" doll for as long as I can remember. But I don't need it anymore and I know there is some little kid out there who will love her like I did when I was younger. So I think she would be in better hands than mine where she can be loved and appreciated.

Today's act of kindness and gifting is also a toy. A "Big Bang Theory" kitty cat called "soft kitty". When you press its paw it sings the soft kitty song that Sheldon makes Penny sing when he's sick in the TV show "Big Bang Theory". See the clip below.

I was actually given two of these toys a couple of years ago. My niece loved one so much that she used to use it all the time when I didn't live with her. She would crawl into the guest bed with the Soft Kitty and play it over and over and over and over again. The batteries almost died in it from being played so often. She loved it and it apparently reminded her of me. So when she was feeling bad she would climb into the bed I used and hug my toy. Kind of cute. But since I've been living in the same house she has been hugging me and not the toy so it's time to give it up.
I gave one away a few months back. But I thinks it's time I pass this cutie off as well. If my niece got some much out of it when she was younger, someone else will love it too.

I want to make people's lives better. If by giving away some of my stuff I can do that then I am thrilled to.

My Lenten gifting is not my only act of kindness in the 40 days of lent (which ends on Palm Sunday) but it is one that I feel comfortable photographing and sharing. Sometimes I do kindnesses anonymously so I can't share them here without giving myself away. Sometimes I do kindnesses that other people know about so I can share them and I do here or on Facebook. Sometimes I don't tell anyone because it's not something that I could share without sharing personal information or share something that isn't mine to tell. Kindness is also shown in my discretion.

But the lent gifting I can share because I is mine. I can show you what I'm giving away because often I don't know who it will end up with. I have no attachment to who gets it or where it goes. It is also something that I am giving up for the benefit of another person, group or community. What better Kindness can I do that giving away something every day in Lent? And tomorrow is the end for this "game". Although technically each Sunday during lent isn't counted so it really ends on the Thursday before Easter. Tomorrow is Palm Sunday and the beginning of what the Christian church calls Holy Week. The beginning of all the events that lead up to the crucifixion on Friday and the resurrection on Sunday.

Even though lent doesn't end until Thursday most people I know give stuff up until Easter Sunday. So it's really a choice to how far you go. I will see how I go tomorrow I may even continue to give things up for charity until Easter Sunday just to push myself. I still have Heaps of stuff in my home that I Could regift. But if you are playing this gifting game too... please feel free to finish whenever you feel you want to.

Hope this finds you well.

Lent gifting day 33

I don't know about you but Lent is flowing FAST!!! I feel like I'm only just getting the show on the road and it's almost over. Woweee. They say time flies when you are having fun!

I'm sticking with the soft toys for now because I have so many of them.

This little guy will be small enough to fit inside a shoebox. So I'll vacuum him thoroughly and then give him to a friend who collects small toys (in very good condition) and donates them in shoe boxes to kids in 3rd world countries around Christmas time.

He was a free promotional Teddybear for a company that has since gone bust so there is no reason for me to keep it. It might bring joy and love to the life of a young person. I had a collection of soft toys that I've loved over the years so I know what one soft toy can do for the life of a child.

So thank you to the teddy bears and fluffy penguins who I have loved over the years (I collected penguins in my younger life). Thank you for the kindness you have bestowed on me: Being there to cuddle when I was afraid of the dark or when I was scared; reminding me I am loved and am capable of love; letting me dress you up in stupid clothes; forcing you to drink/wear "tea" which may have in fact been toilet water; being there to hold when I cried. See, to a kid these seemingly inanimate objects come alive and support our younger selves in the darkest days.

I am reminded of Toy Story 3 where Andy is able to pass his old toys onto a new generation of toy lovers. The toys are happy and Andy is happy because his toys are being loved by someone else who loves them just as much as he once did.

Sending big fluffy cuddly hugs to all those who need it at the moment in honour of all the stuffed toys we have loved over the years.

Lent gifting day 18

The more I give away the more I find that I want to give. Has that ever happened to you?

It is the same with kindnesses. The more kindness you bestow on others the more you want to do. It's boarderline addictive. Just with none of the bad side effects! Hehehe.

Today's kindness and gifting is something that is still in its packet from when I got it back in 2015. This glass from Coca Cola was a freebie from McDonald's.

It's been about 6 years now since I gave up coffee and coke (most strong caffeinated drinks) because of chronic stress induced insomnia. The fact I even own a coke glass is kind of funny. So donating this to someone who like the glasses or loves coke (I know a few) seems far more appropriate than me keeping it in my boxes of stuff in my cupboard.

Have you looked at what you are using? Does it align with your current lifestyle? Does it align with your values?

I know for me, owning a coke glass doesn't align with my lifestyle or values. So thankfully I can give it to someone who can use it and whos values and lifestyle aligns with it too. Yay for giving!!!

(Check out my Pinterest board for Kindness Idea to find this quote and many other kindness inspired pictures).

Much love to you all!

Lent gifting day 13

I got to talk to my best friend today who has recently moved interstate. It was so lovely spending some time catching up via Skype.

One of the things I found in my recent dejunk Session was about 200 postcards from around the world that I've bought and never used. I think I've mentioned them before. I've started sending them to my best friend. Every couple days I've written one to send which is fun and I hope makes her feel special.

I love the way that receiving snail mail makes me feel better. It is a pretty simple kindness to do too. Sending an encouraging letter or postcard to someone makes them know you have been thinking of them. Plus in my case, it used postcards that would other wise go to waste. In Australia it costs $1 to send a postcard anywhere inside Australia. Of course it cost more to send stuff internationally but I often like to send nice bits and pieces to my friends overseas.

Kindness doesn't have to be expensive. A one off postcard (you can make your own) to a friend or family member and the cost of postage can mean the world to someone. Getting a card to know you care can be something that lightens a day.

Back to the Lent challenge.

I recently wore this dress out as part of a Tinkerbell costume. To a Disney themed night at a city nightclub... it was so much fun!!!! I danced for hours and hours. So good. And I'm so glad I had flat shoes not heels like my friend in the picture next to the green legs (which happened to be my green legs).

My friend, who is the other set of legs in this picture, went as the fantastically Mad Hatter! We also had Megara from Hercules, Esmeralda from the Hunchback Of Notre Dame, The Little Mermaid (dressed as Ariel when she was voiceless and on two feet) and her prince, Eric! So much fun to sing loudly and dance to Disney Music. We also danced to other 90s music, a fun reminder of my childhood! :)

Anyway... the dress. A friend had given me the dress a few months ago as part of a group of things to be gone through and then donated to charity. I pulled this out to keep in our costume box. Then I decided to do the Lent giving and I knew I was going to be donating this dress because I really didn't need to dress up as Tinkerbell any time soon... or so I thought.

Then the Disney themed night club night happened so I decided to actually get one wear out of this before I would pass it on to someone who needs it. This one isn't actually going to go in the charity bag today but be given to a friend who needs it for another fairy themed event. I'm going to give it to her to keep if she wants or donate on to someone else who needs it in the future. It's a pretty good quality dress that was once longer and had been a bridesmaids dress. It makes a fantastic Tinkerbell costume.

It was awesome giving this dress a last hurrah, for me at least. I will also have lots of fond memories to pass along with the dress. I won't forget the memories but I don't need to worry about keeping the dress. Plus someone gets something they need FOR FREE! Winning on all fronts! :)

Here are some words on my favourite subject kindness... "My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who you are, to astonish a mean world with your kindness!" Maya Angelou.

I hope you think of a whole range of simple kindness ideas you can do to astonish this world with Kindness.

Love to you all,

Have you missed me? 200th post has arrived!

Hello my lovely friends & family (& complete strangers),

Yes, i am still alive.

No, i didn't fall off the face of the earth.

Yes, i am still doing kindnesses!

And yes, i have still been doing them even when you thought I had stopped.

So what has been happening? You may ask.

I finished up my contact at the social justice unit. I was blessed to have been working for 18 months on what was originally a 3 month contract!

Since i last wrote we have had Christmas, birthdays, valentines day, the 2nd anniversary of my fathers death, a national scout camp  (for my nephew & brother in law), a torn hamstring, a broken arm, hospital visits, amd then on top of it all my mum & i moved house. We moved in with my sister and her family. Another blessing. Moving house is messy, complicated & frustrating. Moving the equivalent of 3 houses  into one has been difficult but rewarding. However i am only just finding and sorting out a lot of stuff. One thing that I had to let fall by the way side during this time was this blog.

So I am now also job hunting, hoping to return to archaeology and/or field work. Mum is going to be supported thoroughly. She has been the best. She has been pushing me to get back out there. And i am embracing that. Wish me luck, say prayers, send me good vibes... whatever it is you feel most comfortable with. I appreciate it greatly.

Sheer exhaustion, and actually sleeping ( guess who is actually getting some sleep now? - me! YAY! ) is amazingly not conducive to my blogging as i used to do  a lot when I was not sleeping. So i need to start some new healthy habits again. One of those habits is blogging a bit a a time so I don't feel too overwhelmed.

In terms of this project, i don't know where to begin on some of the most extraordinary kindnesses i have given, received & experienced.  So i will add little bits when I think of them.

I hope this finds you all well & feeling kinder knowing this kindness champion hasn't given up yet.

Much love,
Daena

P.s. I have to admit that I have been temped to be sneaky and start adding posts & back date them so you didn't think I was  lazy or anything. I still think honesty is the best policy so here i am. Honesty at its best! 😄😊😄😊

Sustainable September 2015 - Day Twenty Eight.

Hey guys and girls,

Has this month flown by? or what? We are almost at the end now. How have you been going so far?

Today I spent a chunk of the day helping my sister and niece cleaning up, sorting, rearranging and de-junking their house. I am absolutely exhausted but it was well worth it.

Todays Sustainable September idea follows on from yesterdays.

September 28: Create your own indoor scrap bucket.

Photo via google images from 123rf.com
When you do this you can buy, make or recycle another container to re-purpose it.

This helps with getting your kitchen and garden scraps to your compost bin. We currently have an old yoghurt bucket (1kg bucket) that we use. We have a couple of these bins that we have so we can wash one out and fill another or fill with gardening bits too.

Mum has a bucket bought that she has ready for when she moves into a granny flat. It is a little metal bin (that's been painted teal) and has a simpler lid to open than the yoghurt buckets. She finds the yoghurt lids too hard to open sometimes, that the metal bucket will solve.

I like short and simple ideas like the one above. They make it easier for you to do, and simpler for me too! :)

The phot from the blog My Daily Compost. Check it out
KINDNESS IDEA: Barter or share your extra produce.

My sister today traded some of her home made tomato sauce for some fresh produce from a local gardener & their small home-farm. This is awesome way to get what you need and give someone else something that they might not have.

I have to say the fresh produce was delicious. I cooked up some Kale and some rainbow chard with some garlic butter and it was divine. I cooked that together with some local backyard eggs (from a friend) and some delicious BACON!!!!! I know... bacon! again! It is the weekend though so as a Weekend Vegetarian it is allowed! ;)

I hope this finds you all well and excited about healing our environment.
Much love,
Daena x

Sustainable September 2015 - Day Nine

Good day to you all,

Today I am back at work with the Social Justice Unit, after my trip to Sydney. Something has shifted in our community over the weekend. I have been deeply moved by the love, support and kindness that has been coming from the community in support for refugees and asylum seekers. In the office here at JAMWA, we have been working for years (me only a year and some more than a decade) on helping refugees and asylum seekers find safe places in our community. I have been moved by those who continue to act with kindness for those more vulnerable than themselves. I have been empowered by those who are supporting this latest campaign for Syrian refugees when perhaps, a few months ago, they might of been against it. It takes great courage to be kind sometimes, particularly with an unknown entity. I am proud of all of you who are standing up for the rights of all people. I am proud of those who continue in their long time efforts to support those who need it most. So thank you, all of you, for being kind when it is most needed. We can do better than we have been doing. You are showing us all that is true.

If you are interested in supporting refugees, CARAD is always looking for support. CARAD is the Coalition for Asylum Seekers, Refugees And Detainees. CARAD provides welfare support, including financial assistance, material aid, accommodation and case management to community based asylum seekers and newly arrived refugees in need. Gift cards, financial donations and your kind thoughts are all appreciated.

ASRC is the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre who also need support, volunteers, encouragement and Facebook likes.

If you want to read more about it check out the article on the ABC News site : Europe 'rediscovers its humanity' through migrant crisis, UNHCR says

So now that i have acknowledged the kind work of you all, lets talk about Sustainable September? Have you learnt anything new yet? have you done any of the simple swaps?

Awesomely my Bamboo Toothbrushes have arrived whilst I was away. I get to try them out for the first time tonight! Exciting!!!!

September 9: Instead of using plastic wrap to wrap sandwiches make your own reusable sandwich wrap.

This idea came out of me participating in the Plastic Free July.  The awesome people at www.ecofaeries.com during Plastic Free July posted a video tutorial on Food wrappings  and "How to make a reusable lunch wrap" ...

KINDNESS IDEA: Make some Reusable lunch wraps for you and for a friend. When you make some, make more than just one and give a couple (or how many you want really) to someone else during Sustainable September.

Thank you again to everyone for following along with my blog.

Remember Kindness is the key. Kindness for everyone, kindness for yourself and kindness for the environment. We all share this world together so lets care for each other and the world we live in.

Much love to you all,
Love Daena x

A new year of kindnesses from 1st Jan 2015

Hello beautiful friends.

I am back! I hope you haven't worried about me not being back blogging this year yet? If so don't worry! I have been doing my kindnesses this year again. I've been on Facebook to keep people posted and I'm really sorry it's taken me this long to get to the blog.

This year I am asking people to join me in my kindnesses. Think you could do a kind deed a day? Or a kind deed a week? Or maybe a kind deed a month? Well this year I'm asking you to join me with your kindnesses.

#365daysofkindness
#52weeksofkindness
#12monthsofkindness

I urge you to take on the challenge.

I've found it such a true pleasure to do a kind deed that I want others to experiment and experience that joy! :)

I know it's already into the new year and I have started my 365days of kindness already but you don't have to go from 1st of January to 31st of December. You could do whatever date you want to start and continue for a full year. I'm happy to support you along the way.

Mum this year has decided to join me. Her kindnesses will be different and also sometimes the same as mine. But it's always lovely having someone to join you. And I want to walk with you on the journey. And celebrate the good things in life! :)

My kindnesses so far this year:

January 1, 2014 - I detailed our car for my mum. It's not a job she can do. So I scrubbed and waxed our car so it is now all shiny.
(I think I was pretty tired after the last photo! Who guessed detailing the car would be so tiring! But it looked amazing!)

January 2, 2014 - I supported a friend who needed some advise and needed someone to listen. It was an honour and a privilege to be there for them when they needed me.

January 3, 2014 - today was my brother in laws birthday party. So I made dip for my sister so she could finish other stuff ready for the party.

I played a couple of games of chess with my nephew because it kept him out of his parents hair whilst they were busy doing other things... Amazingly I lost at chess, twice! Clearly need to brush up on my chess skills!

I played "hangman" spelling game with my niece whilst cooking.

I made cups of tea for my mum, sister, nephew and niece. I also offered to my brother in law but he kindly declined!

I also helped move the new "family" guinea pigs safely away from where all the noise would be for the party. I also had a cuddle with Chocolate and Prince, the two male guinea pigs, helping my niece and nephew continue to get used to holding them.

Okay... So today was a busy day! :) but it was lots of fun and totally worth it! :)

I hope your Christmas and New Year celebrations went splendidly. And I hope and wish for a year filled with love, joy and kindness for you all!

Let me know here, Facebook, or twitter if you are joining me for one of the kindness challenges! I look forward to hearing from you!

Much love,
Daena x

Becoming a blog junkie...

Hey everyone,

Are you surprised to see me back again so soon?

I don't know about you but I am surprised to see myself back here... writing again so soon. After all I thought I would fall straight back into my no-blogging-unless-I-really-should-ness.

But I have some Good news! I have now got internet at home! YAY! :) I guess you are now wondering how I was posting on here daily for a whole month without the internet at home... well for the most part I was writing everything I could before hand on my laptop with out internet access... uploading photos from my phone and when the blog was almost ready to post I would upload it whilst using my mobile as a modem. I have to say this internet at home thing is a lot less complicated and a lot easier to do! :)

Well yesterday... I had to make the active choice to not blog... and it was harder than I thought (am I becoming a blogging junkie?). However, I was over on the 365days of Kindness Facebook page giving away another set of 3"x3" cards for people to give away as their own kindnesses. Tonight is another draw... so if you want to you can go over to check out the last two GIVE AWAYS!

I cant stay away from Blogging for long, now that I have gotten in to the habit (not nuns habit because that would be weird!). So maybe I can keep going! :) After all I am like 22 months behind on my day to day kindnesses. And thankfully I found my 8 journals (Yes that was a whole 8 Journals) that will help me catch up and share.

There are only 7 journals in the picture, I know. But the 8th is almost filled so its still in my room waiting to be finished.

Now I just have to sit down and actually type them all out... add photos and links (if there are any) and then BAM! Done! Okay... I wish it were that simple! So be kind to me when I am slow to get these blog posts out.

What did you think of Sustainable September? Do you think we should do it again next year?

I hope you are all well.
Love to you all,
Luv Daena x

Sustainable September Day Seventeen kindness

Hello beautiful people,

How did you go today? Check out yesterday's Sustainable September kindness idea? Or did you do something else entirely?

As i am not in the market for a car myself, I had a lesson from my Godmother about how to care for the vegetable garden and make some pesticide free, natural Bug Spray! :) so that was awesome! :) she really has a way with gardens! The photos below are from her garden:

Spring is really here now... In Australia.

Anyways here is tomorrow's Sustainable September kindness idea:

Tuesday – 16 September – Create a “rubbish free lunch” by checking out these ideas! This blog is awesome and really has some amazing ideas! This one in particular is for tomorrow: http://smallstepsforsustainability.blogspot.com.au/2014/02/rubbish-free-lunches.html?m=1

Hope this finds you all well,
