"Meh-ish-ness"... NOT an actual word!

Hey Everyone,
well this has been a very busy couple of weeks for me! I feel like a I have become a little bit of a recluse (apart from shopping for food and driving to doctors appointments), with looking after mum, having migraines, terrible bouts of insomnia, gastro (or food poisoning... not sure which), and just general "meh-ish-ness". And yes... I know  "meh-ish-ness" is not an ACTUAL word... but its about how I felt this last few weeks. So I decided I needed to get back into writing on here again! Just to keep you updated and so I feel more connected to the world!

As you can tell I am still behind on last years RAKs! Over the last year and a bit I have been laboriously completing the entries in my Scrapbook, then scanning them in, then uploading. This takes ages! Some times I also have problems at one or more stages and it prevents me from getting them uploaded on this Blog. So I have been a bit of a slacker when a problem crops up! However, if you were to come to my house I could show you my beautiful scrapbook with all the pretty pictures and all my RAKs!

One thing... I need a little help! Does anyone know how to transfer the calendar on an iPhone to the computer? I have been storing all my latest RAKs & kindnesses on my iPhone and have been trying to figure out a way to easily transfer things digitally! So that I will get them up faster on here! So you can read it and see what I have been doing and some of the funny stories or little wins I have had in the world! If you have any ideas of how to do this please contact me!

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I am still alive! Mum is too, which i know is a good thing! :) AND i have every intention of putting more RAKs up!

Just to prove that I can do it I will let you have the last few that I scanned in when I was last able too! So here they are...

Still a bit behind! if only it were a "bit"! lol!

Also, one of my family has pointed out that these ideas are great but that more information or stories would be great! So this year I am trying to include a little more information when I can! however, if I have been using photos and names I have been asking for permission from them. I think its nicer when they know their identity is shared, just in case they don't want it known to the world! wow... I sound like some of my friends are spy's! oh, if that were only true! lol! Then again, if they were... would I actually get to know about it? hmmm? Enough of my random musings!

I am off to finish a book and get some sleep... HOPEFULLY!

I hope all is going well with you in the world! :)

August 2011 - RAKs (& Project 25)

Well in an attempt to clear the back log, I am uploading the August RAKs here too! So i hope you like!

I have found it quite satisfying to have been able to write out my RAKs in my "Scrapbook". Not only does it act like a diary for me (as i don't keep a regular one of my own) it reminds me of all the different things YOU CAN DO for others. I know that some people believe that one person can make a difference, and i agree but the more people we have making a difference, no matter how small, the difference happens faster! I ask that if you want to make a difference like me, that you make a small commitment to doing so. It doesn't have to be something as crazy as doing a WHOLE YEAR of kindness but if you make a commitment and stick to it, you too can make a differnece in your community!

I love hearing about what others are doing in their own homes, towns, cities and countries! So please, if you have done a kind deed for another and want to share it with me I would love to hear about it! As i am sure a lot of others would too. That's why i originally created the group Project 25 - Random Acts of Kindness, so we could share our kind deeds together and inspire each other to make a difference!
You can use the - Project 25 Facebook Page and share your good deeds there or in the comment section of this blog. You can also email the Project 25 Email address.

I hope you are enjoying the ideas and the journey i have been on! Its been hard, challenging and most of all fun and rewarding!

Thanks for all the support so far and i look forward to hearing from you in the future!
Cheers,

Finally finished doing the scrapbooking for 2011's RAKs...

I have finally completed the scrap-booking for the last of the RAKs for last year! I know i completed the whole year of kindnesses but it is nice to be able to show them (in a pretty format) to my friends and family! :) The biggest problem now is having to scan them all in two cards at a time! But at least they are done!

So here are the ones for July. I had finished these ages ago, just have been slow to upload them to here! :)

I am hoping that i can scan the rest in today and then just slowly release them to you all! Either that or  i will go crazy and do a super upload! :D lol!
Anyways,
Hope you are all doing well!

But wait... There's more...

Well its kind of impressive for me that I am doing this more than once a month! :) I'm trying to upload these so that there is not so much work when it comes to December!

I guess then its kind of advanced laziness! The rest of January is included here...

WOW.... that means the first month of the year has been uploaded! YAY! 1/12th of the way there for the 365 days of kindness! :) Technically i have done more than 50% of it but 1/12th is now uploaded! :) YAY! I'm so happy i have been that organised! :)
Thanks for the support!

Finally a few more kindnesses to show! :) From the SAYC in January.

Recently someone asked if i had ever Google'd myself... and i have to admit that i am a little bit if a narcissist and that i did do it a few months ago (which actually helped me as i was looking for a website that appeared with my name... but that's a whole other story). This time i decided to do it again... and check out the "Google Images" for myself and it came back with an article written about SAYC with photos of some of the awesome leaders in it! So i thought i would post it here just to give you an idea of what it is to do a Salvation Army Youth Camp.

New Look for Youth Camp - SAYC photo

I have also included the RAKs i did during that time. So i hope you enjoy them as they took alot out of me... as the whole camp could have been considered a GIANT Act of Kindness! but i thought that would be a little bit of a cop out! So i persisted with my "little things", my little kindnesses.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this as I'm slowly trying to get these images/cards up of the RAK's i have been doing everyday since January 1, which will continue to December 31st.

HOW TIME FLYS!!!!

Well this is just a quick note so you know i haven't forgotten about this! I have been doing my Random Act of Kindness everyday in 2011, even though it is very hard to be willing to do it everyday. Particularly when you don't feel very gracious or even very well. But you would be proud I'm STILL going! I cant believe we are halfway through this all now! How time flies when your having fun! :)

I will be posting some more entries of my Scrapbook styled 365 Days of Kindness book.  I love it and i show it to my family and friends just so that they can see it is possible! :) Good things do happen in the world!

I hope this finds you all well! And willing to perform Random Acts of Kindness for people around you!

Cheers,

How hard is it to do a kind deed a day...

Well so far i have been excellent in recording my kindness a day... but not so good in doing any blog updates! Im terrible at doing this... particularly when i have weeks when i dont want to be on the computer... but experiencing real life... or i get so hooked in real life... i forget my virtual responsibilities!

So i have the first week of kindnesses done all-nice-like in the scrapbooking style...so i can just slot in the info and be ready to go... but i keep meaning to post them on here. I am trying to keep this as annonymous as possible for my friends as well as for everyone who ever comes to read this! :) Random acts of kindness... can be in the choice of random people to be kind to, or something that appears a little random to you. Doing something you wouldnt normally do for someone you  know and love is just as acceptable as a RAK!

FOR those who read, and know me, im keeping names confidencial... yet you'll know if you have been "kindness-ed" (i know its not a word... but it is now)! :)

I have been finding it really hard to go out of my way to do a kind deed for those around me... even though i have succeeded in doing it! :)

As i was thinking about this i was weighing the merits of Random Acts of Kindness with just being Kind to those around you. There are things you do in everyday life that you would never have thought of as RAK that are still kindnesses! Yet most of the time you dont appear to think of them that way! So, if you do something regularly that is a kindness... thats ok to do too. I mean everything for the greater cause! Kindness is essential in promoting a better life for all!

Anyways, that is enough of me having my say for now... hoping to get the list started for my Kindness Calendar! :)
